Your Innkeepers, Jamie Cherry & Jim Gunther, Bringing a touch of San Francisco to Napa Valley

Jim Gunther & Jamie Cherry, your innkeepers, with Calvin, Oscar
and Hugo.
In May, 2007 Jim Gunther and Jamie Cherry of San Francisco, CA, took the reins as the new innkeepers of The Inn On First. Jim and Jamie bring fresh new ideas and a fervor to excel at their new vocation. They hope to bring a touch of San Francisco style to the Napa Valley and impart some of that style to the look, feel, and food at the inn for their guests to experience.
Their differences make up their strengths
With any inn, your memorable stay is orchestrated by your innkeepers. It's their combined talents that shape your experience. Jim and Jamie come from varied and diverse backgrounds that blend perfectly.
Jim graduated from the California Culinary Academy (Le Cordon Bleu) in 1994. During his culinary training and post-graduation he worked for the Sherman House restaurant, a Relais and Chåteaux property, as assistant pastry chef, pastry chef and later as chief baker and pastry chef. Other Relais and Chåteaux properties in the Napa Valley include Auberge du Soleil, Meadowood and the French Laundry.
A significant portion of Jamie's professional career has involved customer service. Working with high profile, high net worth firms and individuals in the financial services sector has been his specialty. He enjoyed fostering positive relationships with both clients and colleagues in order to make both parties successful, and ultimately satisfied. His intention is to meet every challenge in ensuring the satisfaction of every guest at The Inn On First.
Jim & Jamie have started their own blog: "Adventures In Napa." In which, they hope to share some of the experiences they have throughout the Napa Valley and hopefully give you an insider's look at some of the fine culinary experiences to be had in our slice of heaven.

Jim loves to prepare high quality food with a professional presentation, and provide new gastronomic adventures for his guests; always willing, of course, to scramble an egg or two for the less adventurous. Jamie's gracious style of service and attention to detail provides the perfect delivery of the breakfast meal. Jim and Jamie together will continue the tradition of sharing fine food with their guests, as they have with friends and family at their home in San Francisco since 1994. They look forward to sharing some San Francisco Bay Area hospitality in their new home and inn in Napa for years to come.
