Excursions & Tours

We offer the following excursions to our guests to take advantage of the adventures available in the Napa Valley. If you wish to add any of these excursions to your stay, please mention them to your innkeeper when confirming your reservation.
Hot Air Ballooning
:: $205 per person ::Float above the vineyards on a 1-hour flight from Balloons Above the Valley that captures a bird’s eye view of the Napa Valley. A post flight brunch is included although we invite you to return to the inn for breakfast.If desired, shuttle service pick-up from the inn is available for an additional $10 per person.**Some restrictions may apply. Women who are pregnant may be required to provide medical release from your doctor in order to fly. Details available here.          

Luxury Wine Tour Shuttle Group Excursion
:: $99.00 per person ::

Experience an intimate, yet social and lighthearted way to see and taste the Bay Area’s best wineries.   We recommend first and foremost Platypus Tours!  The Inn on First guests are picked up between 10:15 and 10:30, and returned around 5PM.  In between you’ll visit four to five boutique wineries with 10 to 12 others, enjoy a Platypus-crafted deli lunch (usually outside at one of your stops, weather permitting), as well as snacks and water served on board.  It’s a great way to see the valley and perhaps make new friends as well!  They now also specialize in a White Wine Tour for those who want that particular focus.  We will be happy to make a reservation for you.

Hiring a Limo or Sedan to tour Napa Valley
:: Starting at $65.00 – $75.00 per hour* ::

Don’t want to drive while visiting Napa Valley.  Enjoy a customized wine valley tour tailored especially for you with a private driver. We would be happy to recommend drivers for you based upon your specific needs.
*4 to 6 hour minimums. Tasting fees not included.

Private Driver Napa Valley Wine Tour
:: Starting at $400/day for 2::

For wine aficionados who want to meet the owners, taste limited production, hard-to-find, medium to high-end wines, and enjoy intimate, private wineries in Napa Valley, we recommend: Gordy Larum.

$400 and is inclusive of all taxes, tasting fees, bottled water, fuel charge, transportation and Gordy as your personal tour guide for the duration of the tour day.

There is a high expectation that you’ll be purchasing wine at each winery.  We will be glad to make a reservation for you.  Book early as he is a solo driver.

Create Your Own Coffee Blend 
:: $150 per couple ::

(Includes Free Coffee, Coffee Press, Bag of your Personal Blend, Reorder Capability)
For those who want to do something unique and fun that is not wine-related, we offer you an opportunity to visit a coffee house for 90 minutes of tasting, education, and blending of coffee. Working with a Coffee Educator, you will see what happens to the beans at different stages of roasting, taste the “characteristics and flavors” of different beans from around the world identifying which ones you enjoy, learn how to brew a perfect cup of coffee with a coffee press, and then create your own personal blend of coffee. At the end of your session you will go home with a bag of your custom blend, French coffee press, and the opportunity at any time in the future to call and reorder your very special blend. We need at least 3 days notice to make sure your Coffee Educator has the time to roast all the coffee beans used in your session. You can either do this locally here in Napa (walking distance from the inn) or you can go to the original coffee roastery in St. Helena and tour the equipment as part of your education. $150/couple.

 

 Horseback Riding 
:: $100 per person ::$100 per person for private rides through the beautiful vineyards of Chalk Hill Winery in southern Healdsburg, about 45-minutes northwest of Napa. Rafael and his team of professional equestrians guide the 1.5 hour tours; price is all-inclusive and guests are provided with a complimentary tasting pass to Chalk Hill Vineyards.Explore Downtown NapaGive yourself a break from driving and spend a day exploring downtown Napa!  Discover more than 25 tasting rooms filled with not only incredible wines but hosts eager to delight your palette, pick up a picnic lunch at the Oxbow Public Market and enjoy it as you relax beside the river in Veteran’s Memorial Park, or enjoy a patio lunch at Angele, Celadon or Kitchen Door, spoil yourself with new and vintage clothing (like a bowling shirt or a poodle skirt) @ Wildcat Vintage Clothing, discover new art at Quent Cordair Fine Art, bring home a gift for your pet from the Vineyard Dog, visit one of our two kitchen stores (Shackford’s or Napa Valley Kitchen Gallery),  find your inner-kid as you treat yourself to homemade ice cream from Annette’s Chocolate Factory.  We could go on, but we won’t!  We want you to know there is a wonderful world to explore here in downtown Napa.  We’ve mentioned a few of the many shops and spots for you to explore and enjoy in downtown Napa.  Also, be sure to visit www.DoNapa.com for more information.

Private Cooking Classes
:: $850 per group of 4, or $300* per couple ::

Interested in taking a cooking class while you are here in Napa?  Cooking with Julie offers private lessons in shopping for fresh ingredients and making a 3-course meal from what you purchase, Mon-Sat, for up to 4 people at $850.  The Silverado Cooking School with Chef Malcolm will teach and help you explore your culinary genius with menus, fresh ingredients, and lots of hands on experience.  4 hours.  *$95/pp with a minimum of $300.

Taste of Napa
:: $35 per couple ::

This card entitles you to a 10¢ tasting fee at each tasting room. Be sure to ask each tasting room about additional discounts and specials available with the card.

Exertec, Health and Fitness Center, established in 1983, is located within walking distance of the inn. The facility features an indoor 25 yard heated pool, locker rooms, sauna and steam room, jacuzzi, weight equipment, cardio zone, and fitness classes.
